Pre-Excavation Management Course
PEMC provides structured, practical guidance that links the Safe Work Australia Model Code of Practice: Excavation Work and AS 5488 Classification of Subsurface Utility Information (SUI) to the real-world decisions required before excavation begins.

- Confidence sourcing and interpreting utility information, including BYDA plans and the Look Up and Live app
- The ability to apply AS 5488 quality levels to excavation planning and decision-making
- A clear understanding of PCBU, supervisor and worker duties - and how to demonstrate reasonably practicable steps
- Practical risk assessment processes and control measures that stand up to scrutiny
- Insight into the role and competency of Certified Locators, and when to engage them
Built for the People Who Plan and Manage Excavation
The PEMC is designed for Queensland construction industry professionals involved in planning, supervising or carrying out excavation work - including project managers, site supervisors, engineers, HSE personnel, plant operators and Certified Locators working towards renewal.
Complete the course through a scheduled online webinar (3.5 hours) or choose the on-demand option (3.5 hours) and complete it at a time that suits you. Participants receive a Certificate of Completion, valid for three years.
